ITH is a two-step non-profit agency offering a
90-day shelter program and 21-24-month transitional housing program for homeless families with
children under 18 years of age. It is a distinctly
unique agency in its commitment to keep whole

| Requirements | ||||

Must be a low-income homeless family living or staying in San Bernardino County. Must have custody of at least one child age 17 years or younger or be a minimum of seven months pregnant. Must have a continuous source of income. Must be willing to participate in all programs and classes offered at ITH. Couples must be married or be mutual parents of at least one child. |

| Applying for Services | ||||
From approximately 1500 inquiries, ITH will only be able to serve 25 new families each year. That is why it is important to make the call to begin the process. Prospective residents need to call back each Wednesday thereafter, confirming the continuing need and motivation. When an opening becomes available, a short list is created from the names who called most consistently over the longest period of time for a phone interview. From the phone interview we know better whose needs we can best serve. Those will be called for an onsite interview. The willingness to participate in coaching, classes and employment guidance is assessed. From perhaps three interviews in this last hurdle, 24 hours later, one family will be notified of their acceptance. |
